Yoakum’s newest residents will open a unique store in Historic Downtown.   “We really feel Yoakum needs a place for both a relaxing cup of coffee and a nice adult beverage.  A place where people can socialize without the stigma of a bar” said Diane McCommas.  Daughter Natalie will manage the Perk & Brew, which will also feature muffins, fresh salads, and lighter fare.  The products of Di~Nata Oils, one of the McCommas other businesses, will also be on sale.
“The Perk & Brew will benefit downtown by increasing foot traffic”, said McCommas who, with her husband Todd moved to Yoakum from Lockhart.  “This site is a one-of-a-kind in downtown.  It has a beautiful rear garden, perfect for outdoor get-togethers.”  The plan is to stay open until 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights and feature local musicians.
“McCommas Enterprise has always supported its communities” said McCommas, noting that they look forward to seeing the downtown revitalization effort come to fruition.  Located at 210 W Grand, the store is expected to open this summer.
